    Re: Best Vette Magazine

My favorite was Cars and Parts Corvette. I had a subscription for a couple years then one day I got a Corvette Enthusiast in the mail instead. I did not like it and cancelled my subscription. I re-upped when John Hinkley, Bob Stevens and Noland Adams were brought in. It is my favorite now.

      Well thanks to all.....

Based on the over all concensus, I ordered Corvette Enthusiast.

I can't wait to read the article by John what's his name....

There now. Wasn't that fun? Now then, perhaps some of the Magazine publishers will sit up and take notice. Yaa, Right!

My vote is for Corvette Enthusiast also. John Hinkley's articles are worth the magazine cost alone. Barry Holmes #940

It goes without saying that the Corvette Restorer Magazine is a great "Internal" NCRS publication, but I think it is more beneficial to evaluate what commercial publications are out there and judge their support of our hobby dealing with the restoration and preservation of Corvettes.

I too like Corvette Enthusiast, John's articles are always great and as someone else mentioned the other monthlys I get are getting to be all about having an 800hp c5 or 6 ( which is not my bag ). I do wish the Restorer came out more often.

I believe what both the Restorer and CE have in common is technical articles...how to do stuff to rather basically original Corvettes and keep them operational as engineered and built. Others (Corvette mags) have wandered from that theme and wish to enhance their image among the contemporary generations and cater to the retrovette crowd. Or, in contrast, how to attract cutting edge modification technology.

It's classic versus contemporary...and while many of us enjoy contemporary conveniences, we also appreciate where it all began.

                        Re: Best Vette Magazine

I have subscribed to Vette Magazine since about 1978 (and, I still have every issue). However, I'm going to let that subscription lapse when it comes up again. That magazine has become something TOTALLY different than it was in 1978 (and, for many years thereafter). Now, I just leaf through the pages and set it aside; takes me about 5 or 10 minutes to "read" it. I'm going to be subscribing to Corvette Enthusiast right away.

Vette Vues is also an excellent magazine in my opinion. I'm a long-time subscriber to that and I'll remain so.

Obviously, I also like the Restorer.

I guess I need to look at some of the other magazines sometime, just for fun. The only one I get is "The Corvette Restorer".
