Re: Auto Transport
Reliable (they have a hub in Orlando)
InterCity
FedEx CustomCritical (used to be Passport)

DO NOT use a "broker" - they'll get the lowest-cost (to them) guy they can find (with the highest margin for themselves), and you could wind up with Redneck Ronnie and his Rusty Rig.- Top

Re: Auto Transport
John,
I have no experience with any of the transport companies but, I inspected a 57 Corvette for a prospective client that Bob Pass (previous owner of Passport Transport, now FedEx) was selling about a year ago. He appeared very disappointed with the direction his company went after he sold it. He won't use it to transport his cars.

Re: Auto Transport
Sold a Corvette in Florida that went to Pennsylvania. The buyer used Intercity who did a great job getting the car there in reasonable amount of time and without a mark on it. When Intercity picked the car up, they did a complete and thorough inspection making note of the condition and any damage found. I would recommend them. Jim- Top

I bought my 62 the end of February and shipped from Southern Alabama to far South Texas and used Exotic Car Transport out of Orlando, FL. First class service and the driver called en-route afew times to let me know where he was. They haul for the show My Classic Car. (800)766-8797. I would use again.

Re: Auto Transport
Joe-
I used FedEx auto transport when I bought my '69 roadster in CT last year, and shipped it to IL. Online price estimate was easy and accurate, very happy with the price and absolutely thrilled with the service. Called them back to tell them so. I recommend them.- Top

Re: Auto Transport
Recommend negotiating a top rack berth if you can. That way your car won't get any leaks on it from the car above. One of our fellow Texas Chapter members had brake fluid drip onto his Bowtie car during transit. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: Auto Transport
I have used a few transporters in the past, when I had my own trailer and was out at Bloomington I was parked in a lot with a few Intercity trailers and had the opportunity to watch how owners and cars were treated by their drivers. I also noticed how many of the cars were real high ticket autos. I used them the next time I need a ride and have never used anyone else but them. I live in Jersey and the only thing is you may have to wait X until they have something coming back from Florida - maybe there are still snowbirds coming back? Anyway call and ask for Bob Sellers, a really great guy to work with. He was a great help last year, with giving me some extra tools to work with, in putting my own full truck together to go to Boston. Good luck.- Top
