    61 Engine Numbers

I am new to '61 and am trying to verify my numbers. The VIN # is 108673104375. The engine stamp is 1104375, 11207CQ. The Block casting # is 3756519. On top of the Block, sort of under the distributor, it looks like it has a casting of L 60. The Intake is 3746829, with a casting date of L238. Do all of these make sense? What doesn't match and/or what am I missing?

    Thanks, Richard

Richard - With the infomation you note, the intake manifold is the only one that does not "fit", given a CD of 12/23/58. The other numbers appear to make sense for your car.

I need to note that the CN of the intake is correct for your engine - and I don't have sufficient knowledge to state that the early casting date is "wrong"... Maybe an intake expert is lurking out there that can shed some light on the CD span of time you are finding. Best, DC

Looks good to me, Dec 6, 1960, but maybe you had a typo for the assembly stamp. I'd expect to see a F1207CQ, "F" meaning Flint assembled.

Unsure about the intake date. Seems a bit early to me(2 years?), but maybe they found one hidden in the back room in Flint. Typically, if I recall, judges give about a 6 month window for some pieces. If I were you I'd sell that one and look for a closer date, IMHO..............

Just thought of something, maybe that "8" is really a "0". Could it be there's a hunk of crap in the middle(paint, , cast slag, etc), making it look like a "8"???????? The 23 doesn't make sense though.
