    Outside Mirror Fix ? ?

Anyone know a fix for a loose mirror head short of a new one ? ? I removed the mirror and with it face down on the bench put a small amount of "Loc tite" on the area between the ball and the socket which has worked in the past but not this time. Suggestions appreciated, Bill

On a C3 you can remove the mirror glass (soaking it in gas is one way) and then wedge small shims under the rivet heads that hold the socket against the mirror ball. This jams the socket against the ball more snugly and allows you to adjust the mirror as well. And you can then simply re-glue the mirror glass back on.
    Good luck

        Bill,

Try this thread from the Archives:

        https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...28303&uid=7807

Also the Fall 2005 Restorer article Snap to Fix.

You can also drill and tap the rivets for small screws as Tom has done.
