    Local chapter question

    I've been looking at the list of local chapters in an attempt to find one relatively close to join. However, I'm out in Wichita, KS and find the closest one is over 200 miles away in either Kansas City or Dallas. I'm not new to the NCRS, but am in the process of trying to prep my 72 coupe and soon 94 coupe for judging. The 72 is a former 2nd and top flight winner, and I'm wanting to get the top flight in my name. The 94 has obviously never been judged, but will do very well as it is an all original, very low milage car.

    In addition, I was wondering what was involved in establishing a new chapter. We have a lot of C1, 2, 3, and early C4's in our area, and with our "remote" location, we might need a chapter out here in the boonies.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Re: Local chapter question

    Hi Kurt,

    You may try contacting national team leader Stan Falenski regarding the prep of your 72 and your region VII director Gary Chesnut can help you in assessing a new chapter in your area. Contact information for both of them is listed inside the Corvette Restorer Magazine. We just recently added a new chapter in region VIII and there is leg work and paperwork involved in the start up process. Regards,

    Arland

      Re: Local chapter question

      Kurt, to establish a new chapter, I would suggest that you contact your Regional Director, Gary Chestnut gchesnut@charter.net.

      Below is a brief excert from the NCRS Chapter Operations Manual;

      A group of 25 or more NCRS Members can apply for recognition and charter as a Chapter of NCRS. At least 25 of these members must reside in the same general geographic area as the proposed new Chapter. Chapter requests shall be made on the Chapter Application Form obtainable from the Regional Representative.

          I believe there's a Tulsa OK Chapter group.
