    Balancer spacer question

Do I need the spacer behind the harmonic balancer on our 58 230 hp if I am installing a new replacement balancer (the later non riveted one)? Thanks

    Balancer spacer question

Yes you do, especially if you are restoring the car. That spacer was added to Corvette only to make up for the Corvette only 1/8" front cross mount. It is what makes the pulleys line up. If you don't use it, you'll be using some other "bubba" method to align them. Best, Dennis

One bonus regarding that spacer is that it is contention for the cheapest Corvette restoration part you can buy.
