I now have the four standard (non-telescoping) steering column drawings for 1967 and 1968. Contrary to some of my earlier statements, the columns for the two model years are not the same. (They have the same overall length and basic shape but the capsule brackets are much different.) So they will not interchange.
I have reviewed the three 1967 drawings and the one 1968 drawing. I can pretty much describe the changes through the two model years. (I can't indicate when the changes occurred, but I can provide revision dates.)
I would like to make a workup on the telescoping columns for 1967-68. I know that the 1968 telescoping column is 7803910. Can someone please provide me with the 1967 part numbers? I am sure that there must have been at least two 1967 columns since they would have been affected by the General Motors steering shaft campaign the same as the standard columns.
