1960 windshield

hello, I have been working on fitting new windshield and door post on my 60, in some of the post I have been reading there was mention of useing clay or dum,dum instead of rubber gasket to seal lower channel to the body,my question is if you use puddy how does that effect the angle of the windshield unit as it sits on car?? and do you really use clay (does it get hard)or do you just use sealer around t-bolts and pull lower channel down on body?? thanks michael

I have always just used the windshield frame to body weatherstrip and it works fine... Must admit that my cars are not subject to rain, unless I get caught in the rain at a show, which as happen once.
