how many different stencils or painted letterings are there supposed to be, on the drive shaft of a 1957 corvette?

Craig, In my first post I think that I ask the wrong question, I'll explain, we know about the GM part number, 3712377, stenciled on, but on our car, a 1957, there is another number on the drive shaft near the axle end, which appears to be hand painted on in white paint, 22881W, the W is not all there, but "W" is what it appears to be to us, it's this second number, that nobody, that we've asked, seems to knows anything about, we know that this drive shaft has never been changed, because it's the one that came on our car when we bought it, going on 51 yrs ago now, and Craig, you're first reply to one of my post's, (2) that I"ve had, Thanks
