    Unique or painted C4 emblem?

My son likes going to swap meets with me and started collecting emblems of all kinds. He recently aquired a C4 emblem that was painted entirely white. The guy who gave him the emblem told him it was from a special edition model. The paint looks like a factory finish in respect to coverage on the front and backside. I couldn't find any references or photos that indicate its year/special edition; it has the part number 14060260 embossed on the back.

Does anyone know if it was made for a special edition?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Part number is for a 88 fuel filler door emblem.

Thanks for the information William. Was there a special edition model in 1988 which may have required the emblem to be painted white or is more likely someone painted it that way at a later time?

In 88 there was a 35th anniv. model known by some as the "snowball" car. It was white with white interior and as I recall the emblems were white trimed. Also had white wheels. A pristine example would be fairly rare as I remember problems on fairly new cars with weatherstripping outgassing and turning the paint yellow around the door jambs and even around the headlamp buckets not to mention wear issues on the white leather seats and steering wheel.

Thanks to each of you for the information. Brayden was happy to learn the emblem was "kinda rare".

Not too rare; it's still available from GM. Costs about 60 bucks, GM list.
