    C1 Cross Flag Emblems

I'm looking at the cross flag emblems that are on the side cove area. I have what I believe to be an original and it has 3742213 cast into the back of it. I see NOS ones that have 3767507 on them. Is the 3767507 a service replacement for the 3742213? Are the pins the same size on both? Is there a difference in the '57 fuelie flags verses the '58-'60 flags? Thanks, Ted

Ted, according to the '57 AIM in the RPO section part # 3742213 is the correct # for '57 Crossed Flags. Couldn't find it listed in the '57 Parts Book. My '62 Parts Book said '58-60 Crossed Flags are part # 3767507 with no listing for '57 Cross Flags. Hope this helps. Gary....

      Re: C1 Cross Flag Emblems

Gary, I guess I could have looked at the AIMs also. I guess I'm not quite as sharp as I used to be (or thought I was). Anyway I looked at the '58 AIM and the '60 AIM and it looks like 3742213 carried at least through 3/23/60 which is the last revision on the drawing I have. So it looks like 3767507 was the service replacement. I'll bet the mounting pin size is bigger on the 3767507. Thanks, Ted

Ted, The crossed flag emblem #3714213, shown in the AIM is the orig p/n (with small pin) I believe the crossed flag emblem #3767507 was changed to increase the pin size. Because the small pins usually broke off the first time the flags were removed to paint. When you find the origional cars, at least one of the small pins are usually broken off. Although the FI script was continued under #3714212 with the small pin, also very brittle.
