    Re: SSR questions??

The main problem I find with the HHR is the same as the 07 Impala we had. Not high enough gear in high gear. It should have a 5 or six speed to keep the rpm's down at highway speeds. i am turning 3,000 rpm at 75 mph. If that were down around 2-2,000 rpm the mileage would be much better. We tradeda 03 DeVille on the Impala and it got better highway mileage than the v-6. They need to do more with the six speed trans. Tom

our 2004 impala with the 3800 only turns about 2000 at 75 MPH. for our winter trip to Fla the impala averaged 26+ MPG for over 3500 miles and that was using math not the DIC which is close to what i had mathematically saw. the last tank full avereaged about 22 MPG of everyday driving and that is why i am not looking to move up to a newer model which get the same MPG

I know, I had a S-10 p/u with the 4 cyl. and auto and it turned about 2,000 at 75. Now the new cars turn 3,000 at 75, it does not make sense. It is a matter of gearing and simple for G.M. TO FIX. I like the little HHR for trips but the fuel economy is not as good as a 430 h.p. V/8 ? Tom
