    Right pan or not?

    Hello,

we are prepping my car for the new season, but there are some things which bug me out. The car had a complete engine and PG rebuild in 2006 and after that I drove overall aprox. 2000 miles with her...but.....
    - the PG unit pukes (when standing still), I orderen new seals for that
    - the engine leaks incredibly around the edges of the pan. Note that the seal was a brand new cork one.
    - the steering bars are damaging the pan

yesterday evening i was reading a new book on the C2 and saw some pics of the pans at a 65. The pics gave me the impression that the distance between the steering bar/rod is bigger then at mine. So I get the feeling I might perhaps have the wrong pan, causing it to damage and leak. Below some pics of the pan and the distance between pan and rod.

    The pan

The distance, you can see the dents. Now it is worse!

the block is a 327-250 HP, any of you have some advice? I want to order a new pan, so what is the correct one?

    Thks

The oil pan on your engine is not the correct oil pan for a mid-year small block.

Michael, since you said NEW, this is as close as you will get. This one is just about spot-on. Buy it via eBay or call Keen Parts.

Oil pans of the external configuration seen in your photos were used on Corvettes but ONLY if you have a 1975-79. They were also used on MANY other Chevrolet models dating from the mid 60's.

MIchael, have them send you the correct gasket for your engine.

Joe - thanks for the info. Then we put it in the swap corner of our clubhouse, for other members.

                Harry - all ordered yesterday
