Differences in a C1 and C2 Ballast Resistor

Are there any major differences in the the two resistors if used on the same relative low horse car? Basically would a 62 work for a 64? Both being 327 low horse.

    Thanks,
    Craig W.

C1's and C2's used the same 0.3-ohm ballast resistor (#1931385) through January, 1963. In early February, 1963, 250-300hp cars changed to a 1.8-ohm ballast resistor (#1957154) to reduce point-burning in cold weather.

the ballast resistor in your picture(roy b) is not 55 only as your post states.. that configuration of the porcelain is what i like to see on the 56 and 57 vettes.mike

Could a C1 ballast resistor be used on on a 64?

            Thanks,
            Craig W.

              Functionally, yes.

I'll say your correct ,my brain is on 55. This ballast first design is rarely ever seen. I depend on you after 1955 ,cant afford those newer $$$ Corvettes
