'57 Radio Speaker

I have an original radio in my '57 but no speaker or amplifier. Original speaker and/or amplifiers are difficult to find and very expensive. From time to time, I see speakers or amplifiers on eBay for other GM products such as '57 full size Chev. or Cadillac. Does anybody know if these would work on an original '57 corvette wonderbar?

I've seen other 56 to 57 Corvettes using them so the car unit must work because the car radio is the same but for the design.

the 57 pass car speakers differ considerably in size and shape from the 57 vette speaker. the pass car speaker won't fit behind the stock dash site on a 57 vette without considerable butchering. there was an original 57 vet speaker assembly on ebay recently--think it may still be available on ebay. mike

500 bucks not out of sight for an original vette speaker assembly and the one on ebay does appear to be a vette assembly.mike
