I got my headrest conversion installed today, and it looks really good (Saddle leather interior). Some members have mentioned discomfort of the headrests, particularly on a '66, but you don't even know these are there, just like a 'modern' car.
After removing the first seat in its entirety, I discovered you can take the seat back off without removing the seat bottom from the car. Difficulty of re-installation is a toss-up, though.
I did take this Board's advice and weld them in instead of tapping bolt holes. I feel safer now, but in the event of a wreck I really think that the damage to my car would cause me more pain than my injuries! Weird? Thanks, everybody, for your advice.
