Can you tell me the part number and how the dating worked on 1962 leaf springs, any other info appreciated.

Don't have the part number here at work, but the dating worked like this:
day of the year (1-366) E (for Eaton Spring) 1 or 2 (for 61 or 62 calendar year)
e.g.
59 E 2 would be February 28th, 62

Is it possible that some springs could be stamped 17 2 E for 17th day of 62 Eaton?
