Terry,Thanks for the imput. I tend to get too emotionally involved sometimes. I worry about perfection and mistakes too much. It seems there is too much competition among the chapters as to who puts on the best regional. Who makes mistakes. Who runs out of food,etc. All you can do is do your best and if it isn't perfect you know you have done your part. Preparation is the name of the game. Do your homework and you have it made. Thanks for the imput Terry. Sorry you cannot make the meet. I do recall though that you have been to numerous Pittsburgh chapter sponsored events in the past. Take care, John D.

John, no event is perfect. Someone who knows a lot about putting on events told me years ago that it is not how well the event goes, but rather that most of the attendees don't know about the crisis. There will always be something that goes wrong, just keep most from finding out about it.

I have a family obligation that keeps me from your regional this time. I have a graduation that I am told I must attend. I wish I could be with y'all.

John, if your biggest concern is real estate have you talked to anyone at Seven Springs about erecting a Tent? Boston National I would assume rented the Tent they had connected to the main display building - they used a side door as the connection between building and the tent. I am not sure but I think only the survivor class and a few venders were in that Tent. If I remember correctly the 57 tribute cars were outside and we did have rain. Anyhow I am sure if you had some interest the New England Chapter would provide info on cost, etc. Good luck.

John, as a judge and a judging chair who has coped with some pretty large regionals, let me reinforce what others say about the deadline and numbers. Stick to it!

Anyone who has not dealt with all the paperwork that goes on BEFORE the meet cannot understand why a cut-off time of three to four weeks is necessary. It takes a huge amount of time to enter the data, print labels, get the judging sheets, assemble the owner packets, send judging requests to the team leaders, prepare lists to post, etc. etc. etc. It always gets really crazy that last week at my house.

Even with the eight-car limit, sometimes judging is not finished until 4 or 5 o'clock. We held a chapter meet yesterday with a three-car class limit and did not finish until 4:30.

It will all come together. See you in June.

Been there and heard that. I have had people call on the Sunday night before to register a car. Everything was printed, boxed, and ready to load in the car and leave on Wednesday.

Seven Springs is a nice place, but having to look at FIphart for three days is gonna be hard to stomach. I ain't sure there is enough liquor for this old man to be able to stand that.

Reba, Thanks for the encouragement. We are sticking with our cutoff date no matter what. We have a full house right now. Anyone who is serious about coming to our show should have had their registration form in by now. Why ruin a good show because of last minute joes so to speak.

Edward. We are not allowed to put big stakes in the blacktop for a tent. I already talked to Seven Springs about a circus type tent and they were not receptive. It gets reallly windy also up on the mountains. Thanks though for the good reception. Hopefully in the next 30 days it wills stop raining. John

No shortage of cheep booze at Seven Springs Farmer Dick. They have a ton of lounges. WE may even have a nice bar on the judging floor don't u think. Now I will see if any one is reading this crapola. The only barr on the judging floor will be the heavy set one from AZ don't u think.
By the way that remark will cost u as Chef Art is in charge of food. JD.

I feel sorry for the people in charge of the registrations for one of these meets. That's a tough job. But our PTSC has a great crew and I am sure we will pull off another good show. Two Whittingtons under one roof though ain't easy. I feel for u Reba. JD

John, that's what cut-off's and late registration fees are for. When you reach the max to Judge in one day or space availability it's "sorry Charlie" the meets been advertised for six months or longer. If y'al think the abuse is bad about event registration you ought to see the grief that Admin John gets from people who can't remember their password or even type their own name correctly. Gary....

Last night I had nightmares in that I dreamed the welcoming party I am in charge of ran out of food. I hear that is a common thing in some of the regionals though. I do hope we don't have that problem. Those welcoming parties typically can cost in excess of 3000 buks you know. I do think they might be getting outta hand. But what do I know. Thanx, John D.
