Re: Michigan Regional, a new concept
Vinnie, Ironically this exact same subject came up the other day on another forum. Seems that my old pal CC has a shortage of judges for his favorite class at the Pittsburgh Regional. Maybe at this time though he has enough as I am staying out of that aspect of the show. Anyhow I mentioned to a certain 63 tanker owner that he may want to consider judging chassis for his pal Carlton except for the fact his big belly can't fit under the car either. Course I have zero room to talk. If I was asked to judge chassis I would say it has one and go from there. JD.- Top

Hey Vinnie,
No fair - you gave away our surprise!!!
I was waiting to see what the L-88 owner was going to say when I screwed the lag bolt into the top of his car to help lift it up.

At least someone still has humor as we go into this event...

Re: Michigan Regional, a new concept
on a serious note - I am always willing to travel to a nice Regional event to do judging on 68-72 cars when asked even if I have to travel from Amsterdam. Being 35 and 'normal sized' I even fit under my 68 with saggy springs

Re: Michigan Regional, a new concept
For some reason, I ALWAYS get picked for chassis.
On rare occasion, I'll do Mech I or Exterior.
Those who know me personally know that I'm 6'4", 240#.
NO WAY can I fit under a Corvette. That's good for the owner.

Hi Chuck,
That 240# is so beautifully distributed on your 6'-4" frame that I would NEVER consider you "a man of large carriage". Greek statue comes to mind in stead.

Why thank you, Alan. What have you been drinkin' today?
How come thin guys like you NEVER get picked for chassis? It must be a NCRS conspiracy.
Are you coming to the Hershey AACA Museum with us this Saturday?

Re: Michigan Regional, a new concept
Chuck,
There's a picture of me in 'THE RESTORER' trying to judge the starter on Juliet Page's car. In it I look like 3/4's of my body is BUTT!!!
Work calls this weekend. I wish I could come with all of you!

Re: Michigan Regional, a new concept
Many moons ago the late Dr. Hans Norberg and I were chosen (punished???) to do chassis. For those of you that did not know him or do not know me, to be nice, we both are shall we say, pleasantly plump. We were judging some smart azz owner's car and we heard him say "those two beached whales do not know anything about Corvette's". Sure wish I had Vinnie's crane that day. The owner's bad day would have been even worse!

lol. I love it. I was judging at the Chattanooga regional and told a few people that we were going to use the new lift for chassis judging. lolol.- Top

and Chassis is my 67-year-old body's least favorite section to judge, but that's what Keith needed, so that's what I'm doing; but Doc Pat's gonna help me out...
