    64 rear quarter panel/carpet ? Again

Hi all, several questions here. First should the carpet be installed underneath or over the rear quarter panel trim on a 64 roadster? Does it really matter? Secondly should there be more than one screw at the bottom for carpet hold down. Reason for asking is that I was deducted a point at the last Regional Meet for not having a carpet hold down screw at the bottom. Well I just looked and yes there is one on both sides which makes me think there should be two not one. No way it could have been missed during the meet. Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Any pictures are greatly appreciated as well.

    Thanks,
    Craig

    Craig,

Pretty sure there was only supposed to be one small screw holding the carpet flap per side.

Mike, after looking very carefully at Noland Adams C2 book and other vintage photo's it appears that there is a screw in the upper corner of the carpet that actually holds it to the trim panel. This screw is in addition to the hex head screw that holds the bottom portion of the trim panel to the body. This hobby is very perplexing. Anyway if you see it differently let me know.

      Thanks,
      Craig W.

Yes, that's correct. One hex head screw secures the hinge cover panel to the..... something.... and a small chrome washer head phillips then secures the carpet to the hinge cover.
The only one visible when completely assembled is the small phillips head screw.
I thought you were asking if there were two small chrome screws per side securing the carpet to the hinge cover.

Craig, the neighbor borrwed my camera and I may not see it again until Sunday evening. Hopefully, someone here can get a few shots of this area and post for you.
I'll see if I happen to have any "in stock".
