And I thought C2 guys were crazy , what's with these
bidders using (l**p) names and not a user name ? I use a name -handle not numbers.

I think it was an eBay change....here is what they say.

To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, eBay has changed how User IDs display on the bid history page. Only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID, all other members will see anonymous user IDs, such as x***y.

David's right...eBay changed the system of bid reporting to disguise the identities of those bidding. It protects folks from being 'phished' after the auction by the unscrupulous trying to sell outside the eBay auction system by approaching potential buyers directly.

Only the seller will now see the full eBay 'handle' of those who bid....

Jack how do I do that also not clear looking at e-bay how to change my handle thanks , I always get sniped any way, thank god I need nothing but like having extra parts on hand IF it's a good buy.

Roy, you need to do absolutely nothing....

eBay automatically changes your USERID to be x****y for ALL other viewers with the exception of YOU and the SELLER/BUYER. You should no longer get 'sniped'. That was their reasoning for doing it, to protect people such as yourself and Hillary from 'snipers'

The automatic x**y system doesn't protect any bidder from being "sniped" (automatically out-bid at the last second), but it does protect a bidder from being "phished" or otherwise aggravated by fake "second-chance" offers.
