Extra Holes in Cowel

There is an extra hole next to each windshield tbolt hole over the support rods. The photos are of the passenger side. Does anybody know what these holes sre for?

Sorry that I forgot to list the year. I had such a hard time posting the photos that it slipped my mind. The year is 1959

My car is at the w shop so I can't have a peek for you. But if its where I think it is under the dash it could be one of 3 things. First it could be that someone has drilled a hole in it before your ownership for an after market radio bracket. It could be for a wonderbar radio bracket or transformer speaker bracket or it could be for something I got know idea about. If I remember when I go to w/shop next time I will have a wee peak for you and see what the hell that holes really is for. Are you running a Wonderbar and has it got the original radio backets in there. Sorry for not helping to much. Give me a few days and I will get back to you after I have a good look

I don't think theat the holes have anything to do with the radio. The original wonderbar was in the car when I got it. I will be waiting to hear what you see on your car. Thanks

Roger I had a good long look at that area under the dash. I couldn't find anything that should be there. I spent about 20 minutes admiring all the junk thats hidden under there. I looked for two holes that where close together like the photo but nothing stood out. It looks like its been drilled for something many moons ago not from factory or my car doesn't have the holes your car has. My thoughts would be to mix up a cocktail of resin with some talcum powder and fill it in. If later you find what the hole is for you can re drill the hole without a problem. Sorry can't suggest anything else. Oh my car is a 60 so maybe the there is something a 59 has that mine doesn't but I doubt it. Good luck

Thanks for the info. Maybe my car was built on a Monday and 2 of the windshield stud holes were drilled in the wrong place. Then the correct holes had to be drilled drilled.
