VERY COOL!!! I've always felt that NCRS activities should include some driving events - something beyond road tours and parades, and what better venue than the GM Proving Ground!

What a blast! The photo is definitely one for the ages.

Amen brother! When I saw that photo yesterday, I thought how cool that everyone of those cars was actually being driven!

Werner Meier and myself were doing somewhere between 110 and 115 on the backside straightaway when a C6 roadster blew by us like we were standing still. I estimate he was at 140. What a rush!!

My wife and I were in my '74 and it was running great. At one point she wanted to know why the numbers were painted on the lane... 30, 50, 70, 100? I said watch this, and punched it up to 100 mph moving into the "100" lane. Next, I took my hands off of the wheel while holding 100 mph. She freaked!

I wouldn't go over 100. The tires on my car are in great shape but are at least 10 years old.

You are right about the C6's. I would easily guess they hit 130 - 140 mph down that long straight away near the Milford Road Course. What a thrill.
