Re: Fuel Filter damaged internally?
160 Celsius (centigrade) converts to [160 x (9/5)] +32 = 320 Fahrenheit
aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............ now it means something to me!
I doubt if 320 degrees would damage the cellulose , and I would think that underhood temps might be in this range on hot, sunny summer days, in stop/go traffic. I would run some clean fuel through it and check what comes out.

if there was any glue used in the assy of the filter i would think it could have been compromised at that temp. you would be better off to use a heat gun to dry the paint. i have found if you use a rattle can put the whole can in real hot water to heat the paint and it drys as you spray it on- Top

Re: Fuel Filter damaged internally?
Most paper begins to break down at 109 degrees C. Depending on how long you cooked it will depend on how much damage you did to the paper.
I'm not sure I'd use it. If your only showing it may be okay. If your driving the car it may quit on you some where.
