Re: paint
Hi Sal,
I understand your uncertainty on paint. There are many, many reasons to use BC/CC. The discussions say there are people who can make it appear to be lacquer. It will last, with not too much care, long after it doesn't matter to anyone anymore.
I put lacquer on my 71, three years ago. It looks like I remember it did the afternoon I picked the car up. (O.K. maybe just a little nicer.) So you know my vote.
You have to do what's right for YOU, it's your car.

Re: paint
I had my 70 done in Marlboro Maroon lacquer and I'm very happy with it. It's obviously lacquer up close, it's shiney enough for me, and yet does not have an incorrect mirror finish.
Also, a spot repair I was forced to make is virtually undetectable, which I'm told is a characteristic of lacquer.
And since the car will never be my daily driver, durability is not an issue with me. Good Luck- Top
