How many points would be lost on a 65 with a dual master cyl. ?I am looking at one for sale that is pretty decent. I like the safety idea but don't want to loose all the points. But I geuss with it not being correct and the #'s being off it would be a total deduct, right? Thanks Tom

Not only would the master cyl be an issue, but the supporting Lines, Blaock and other items that change from a single to a dual system.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 65 dual master cyl. ?
Tom,
Below are the point allocations according to the judging criteria. I think they're still current.
Master cylinder & cap: Originality 12 points, Condition 8 points
Power brake booster & hose: Originality 5 points, Condition 5 points
Valves, lines fittings & clips: Originality 5 points, Condition 5 points
I personally have a bone to pick with regard to deductions for a dual master cylinder on a non P/B, pre-'67 car. NCRS allows bonus points for certain safety features, i.e. battery cut-off and fire extinguisher - and even three points for an NCRS decal! But for a major safety issue like the insurance that a dual system offers, we have the potential for getting dinged 30-40 points. That just doesn't make sense to me! With that said, I'm installing a single cylinder during my body-off, but only until the car is top flighted. As soon as it is, it comes off and a dual system goes on. I have no intention of risking my life or my car without that insurance! Off my soap box. Done...
