    Re: F.I. Percolation

Nick, You may see me post all kind of info about gas and additives, etc. But the truth of the matter is the LWC only likes pure 100LL. Period. No additives and no deluting. I mean how would you like it if they watered down your nice top shelf cocktail.
Wow 6 buks for AV gas. Course rot gut down the street from my house is 4.05 for 87 octane.
Nick you better hurry up on the blue car. The LWC is all together and ready to fire up. Only missing small hand full of screws that are heading my way via Fed Ex. (email me) Good luck, John

Dan, Glad you got the real deal VA. Thanx for free plug but u are too kind. Tell the gang the truth please. You re-rebuild your unit yourself as I did it last century. And you did a great job. Now if my 63 will start up today (if it quits raining) it will be a miracle. The weather here is the pits. JD

I was just kidding on the Jet Fuel guys. It's hi-test kerosene.

The race fuel really did solve the problem but John coached me through several important tweaks. Such as timing and advance and main enrichment diaphram settings. John is so patient, knowledgable and helpful. A credit to our sport. Jerry

            Re: F.I. Percolation

Last summer when my '61 Fuelie was experiencing vapor lock, I added a small electric fuel pump that I bought at Autozone to the gas tank output and mounted it in the area to the right of the tank. Since I didn't know if that would solve the problem, I used rubber fuel line and didn't do anything I couldn't reverse. The right side leading edge of the tank cover is up about a 1/4 inch to accomodate the hose running on top of the tank. I control the pump with a switch mounted on the steering column support and only run it when needed during hot weather and periodically during the winter to keep fuel in the FI unit. The pump is still there, I haven't had a problem since.

I'm not sure what an electric pump does that the mechanical pump isn't already doing. help me understand this one? The FI fuel resevouir is vented to atmoshere so you can't pressure it up.
