    Correct fuel line to carb.

    Hello,
    I have a early 1970 coupe with 350/300hp with AC, P/S, P/B, & NA-9.
Currently theres a hose and inline fuel filter going to the Rochester carb.
I dont think this is the original set up due to the AIM. Looks like it needs a hard line direct from the fuel pump to the carb.
I'm getting ready to make a parts order. In most of the venders catolog's they show the hard line that looks like what I need.
Question is, this is the correct way the fuel line came from the factory. If so is there any more hardware / Mounts and or fittings I'll need to order.
In the near future I'll install my AC Setup and feel this inline filter will be in the way and also not correct either that I'm aware of.
    Any advise will be appreciated.
    Thanks, Greg.

NO C3 Corvette (and I suspect no other year, but I don't know about ALL years of Corvette, so I could be corrected) had a factory installed rubber line on the pressure side of the fuel pump. This can become a serious safety issue as the rubber deteriorates from heat and age.

1970 with Rochester Carburetor had no fuel line support for the metal line from the fuel pump to the carburetor.

      Hi Greg,
The steel line should come with the fittings for the carb and pump that were installed before the line was flared. You need to check your fuel pump for another brass elbow that was used between the line and the pump. Yours may or may not still be there. The suppliers list the elbow too if you need it.
      Regards,
      Alan

PS: I was typing my reply (I'm really slow) during the time Terry posted his reply. Boy!!! He really knows 70-72s.

Thanks for the compliment Alan. Nice catch on the brass fitting at the fuel pump. I didn't think of that.

Thank you very much, both Terry & Alan. I would of responed back soooner but had my head under the hood and that's a good thing.
I should of known, about the discharge side of the fuel needing a steel line for pressure.
Yes I did see the ellbow connector as well.
Very Very, glad you brought the hard line to my attention.
          Thanks again.
          Regards, Greg.

The only Corvettes that used any rubber hose on the pressure side of the fuel pump (can't imagine what they were thinking) were the '64 327/365hp and the '65 327/350hp and 327/365hp; they used a rubber hose from the fuel filter to the carb inlet, with spring clamps at each end.
