Are the amber parking light lens date code on the '72 vette or for that matter any C3 car?

There is a mold date -- like 72 -- but to call it a "date code" may be a stretch.

The date on exterior lamp lenses is normally the date the lens design was certified to meet the SAE (and later, DOT) photometric requirements.

My 1972 (which has GM replacement lenses) shows 1970 date. I guess the approval did not change just because of color change. Maybe Joe or John will know.

The photometric requirements deal with directionality of light dispersion from the lens with the specified bulb usage; color isn't an issue.
