    Welcome to our board !!

All you need to know about Carlisle is to get there EARLY in the morning to avoid traffic. Be prepared for HOT weather. Wear your walking shoes, and bring lots of money for cool stuff you'll want to buy !!

It's a good thing you didn't try to visit this board when you first joined because it wasn't "born" yet, then. In fact, the internet wasn't, either.

        Hi Stan,
Since you have a 66 and a C6 I think you'll find all kinds of interesting things to look at and be surprised by at Carlisle. As a fellow 60's grad, the heat can be almost too much some days. It's great fun!!!
        Regards,

Even though I've lived in California for most of my life, I wasn't born here. I was born in Lynn, MA. I am VERY familiar with Ipswich and have spent LOTS of time there eating clams. I try to get back to New England at least once per year. "The Clam Box" is one of my favorite places.

Glad to see you post here. I told you the people here are not all about not having the correct pan head screw on your nice 66 BB. It's more technical than the CF but we are trying to have separate forums here & I think you will like it.

I was born in Lynn, MA at the OLD Union Hospital (not the one that's there now on Lynnfield Street). At the time, my parents lived in an apartment at the family home at 135 Chestnut Street. Most of my father's family and extended family lived there, too, in separate apartments. My father and all of his siblings graduated from Lynn English. About a year after I was born, my father bought a 2 family house at 22 Clovelly Street which is very close to Lynn English and we moved there. I went to the first grade at St. Pius School. By the way, the upstairs tenants in the Clovelly Street house were the Scribners. Craft Scribner became a very good friend of my father and our family, in general. He and my aunt Frances were companions for about 40 years. You may recall that Craft was the police chief in Lynn for many years.

About 1952 or 53, my father was transferred from NAS Squantum to NAS South Weymouth and we moved to Rockland, MA to a new house my parents had built. Five years later we moved to northern California when my father was transferred to NAS Oakland.

My uncle was an engineer/planner at the General Electric Riverworks Jet Engine plant in Lynn. He worked there for 53 years and was still on the payroll when he passed away.

                          Welcome Stan:

I'm a fellow member of the class of 66. Started driving in the fall of 1965, when gas was about 23 cents a gallon and they gave you glasses and other assorted gifts when you filled up. Oh how fortunate we are to have grown up as baby boomers ?

It's great that you have a 66 Corvette to commerate your membership in the class of 1966. While I would love to own a 66 Vette, I'm really pleased to have a 1970 Corvette, the year of my graduation from college.

Have a great time at Carlisle !
