I have just pulled the P/G trans from my '64 convertible and have a couple of questions about the drive shaft:
1) The Judging Guide indicates that there was a part number on original drive shafts. What was the number and/or where can this number be found? Was it stenciled on the unit or hand written w/ a grease pencil, marking pen, etc.?
2) Should an original drive shaft be "balanced" before it is re-installed with new U-joints to the trans yoke?
3) Any suggestions on ways to maintain the "natural" finish of the drive shaft after it is re-installed?
