1962 Turn Signal Problem

With the ignition switch off and the turn signal lever centered, the right turn signal indicator in the dash is on. The turn signal itself is not on. If I place the turn signal lever in the left turn position the right turn indicator stays on. If I move the lever to the right turn position the indicator light goes out.

Any thoughts or solutions are greatly appreciated.

Just a thought. Check to see if the wires are correctly attached to the battery guage. The "hots" run to that guage first. If they are on the wrong terminal, it will get messed up. The wiring schmatic is WRONG, been there done that. I have NO IDEA, when makers of the big schmatic either don't correct it, or place a correction note on it somewhere. Also, on the back of the ignition switch, you will NOT be using the post marked batt. See if that is your problems and post back here.

If it just started doing this for no obvious reason, check your flasher.
They can cause some strange problems.
