    1954 Dash Rail

Does anyone have a trick to get the dash rail close to the dash? Everything fits snug except the high curve part over the radio and speedometer.

Jerry, I had (and "have") the same problem with my 54. The repros available seem to all have a flaw.

My only fix was to loosen the nuts along the dash and glue the tabs over the speedo hump and speaker hump. I then tightened the nuts after the glue dried. The judging manual is pretty forgiving on the gap, if I remember correctly. My gap is just about 1/8" at the worst spots. I received no deduction.

I can send you a picture of mine tomorrow, if you want.

Joe, Thanks for the great advice! It worked and we are down to an 1/8" split above the speaker and speedometer. Jerry.
