C1 Aircon

Hi -

I am considering installing air con to my 59, and have looked at Corvette Centrals unit? Does anyone have experience with this? Is Corvette Central a recommended vender for this? If not - who would you suggest? Are the units reliable, easy to install, likely to cause other problems.

Advice would be appreciated.

Mark, prefer Old Air Products http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/ The Old Air Products A/C units work great in C2's. Check 'em out and give them a call. They stand behind all of their products. They were well here in the Texas summers. Definetely recommend upgrading to an aluminum radiator and an electric thermostat controlled fan in front of the radiator. Gary....

I installed a Vintage Air Gen 2 Mini in my 62 Corvette. I chose it because of it's small size( it fit great) and the fact that it had cooling, heating and a dehumidified defroster. It did not use outside air but it functioned very nicely and the blower moved lots of air.
Also one nice thing with Vintage Air is that you can specify that the compressor mount on the passenger side of the car which is the logical position. I have seen others with the compresson on the drivers side with hoses running everywhere.
