'72 safe jacking - back of car

What the best way to get the back end of a '72 off the ground? I have a 2-ton floor jack, 2 wheel chocks and 2 jack stands. I'm not sure where the best lift locations are that would allow me to get jack stands underneath, and where the jack stands should go.

    Thanks in advance!

Just in front of rear tires I put jack stands under the frame rail. Same general area that the my service manual shows to lift the car.

Can I place the floor jack under the differential to get the whole back end up at once, and then place the jack stands?

      Thanks!

If you have a floor jack that has a low enough profile to go under your car sure, however I use a protection in my floor jacks cradle to keep from maring my frame with my floor jack. Use a floor jack with 2X4 piece in the cradle and also use protective covering (not wood block) over the jack stands to keep from maring the frame. If placing jack stands on my 68 and 70 to get the rear up I would just select a spot to raise just in front of where I am placing the jack stands and lift. Lift the lowest height of the jack stand on one side and then do the other side and raise it to the height I want and then return to the other side and adjust the height higher.
