    Torque amount

    Hi all,

    Moved recently and am missing some of my info. Just need torque amount for front hub on a 64. Thanks in advance for all help!

    Mike, if you're talking about the front wheel bearing adjustment, a torque is used to seat the bearings, but it is not left torqued.

    The wheel bearing adjustment procedure given in the service manual says to torque the spindle nut to 12 ft-lbs WHILE TURNING the wheel, then back off the spindle nut one flat and insert the cotter pin. If the nut slot and the holes in the spindle do not line up after backing off one flat, then back off another half flat or less as required.

    Zero preload and 0.001"-0.008" end play is allowed.
