my old Gilbarco in ground hydrauliuc lift, which i installed new in 1980, sprung a hydraulic leak(don't mention to EPA folks). i elected to go with a two post above ground lift, a 10 ton Challenger. i bought it locally and was offered an installation fee of two hundred bucks. being the cheap sob most of you know me to be, i declined the installation offer. lesson learned: shoulda took them up on the offer. am just finishing up the installation and have about 16 hours working time, not to mention the heights involved . mike

Re: lessions learned
Be nice now MikieI used my Case skidsteer to set the uprights over the anchor bolts. Using an impact to run the nuts down speeded things up. Torqued all the nuts per instructions. Electrical was already in the ceiling, just had to add a receptical.

For the Seven Springs PA regional if asked what the #1 pain of the entire event was I would have to say it was getting a LIFT so that Alshire could have a nice place to display his 63 non tanker Z06.
Then the company came and it took a crew of guys-maybe 6 or more all day long and into the night putting the thing together. It was a major job.
A special thanks goes out to Milligan Auto Service of Elizabeth, PA for furnishing a new first class lift for the Seven Springs PA regional. The Pittsburgh Tri-State Chapter is very grateful.- Top

Re: lessions learned
Mike, sounds like they made you a good installation quote. Hey man those 2 post columns for a 10k lift are heavy dudes to mess with for $200 frog skins. I gladly paid the $250 to get mine put up. Gary....
p.s. John you are correct getting the lifts for a Regional are one of the hardest tasks to accomplish.NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: lessions learned
if you elect to install it yourself, borrow a Hilti hammer drill. took me 5 minutes to drill five 3/4" holes in 5" of 30 year old concrete with Mr Hilti. took 3 hours to drill the first five holes with my Milwakee hammer drill.- Top
