where to find matching numbers Q-Jet

Any input on where I can purchase a fully rebuilt, restored, bench and flow tested Rochester Q-jet carb that is correctly set up and is ready to bolt on, adjust and go.

Also, I'd appreciate any input on the as-received condition for anyone that has purchased one; the restoration shop in Arizona I'm working with has indicated they have had to spend hours re-working supposedly fully restored carbs.

I currently have a non-matching q-jet that needs a total overhaul and I'd like to find a good match.

    Thank you for you input.

There are various suppliers/rebuilders out there but your success will have a lot to do with which numbers you are looking for. Most of the battle is getting a correct numbers carb and then having it rebuilt. Expecting a carb restorer to have a rare, correct numbers carb rebuilt and ready to bolt on is possible but not probable.

You don't mention year and application. In this case, that's VERY important. Some Q-Jets are fairly easy to find and others are near-impossible.

I have a Nov 1969 build and I was told anything 6 months prior would be the max so May 1969 or later I think.....Don

You're in luck because that's a carburetor that was used across the entire Chevrolet car-line in 1969. Besides Corvette, it was used on L-34 engines in Camaro, Chevelle, and Chevy II as well as passenger car L-36. I would go to the Driveline and see if you could find one.

                Joe,

Any thoughts of putting the driveline online as a searchable ad data base?

Don, sent you an e-mail with all the info for Custom Rebuilt Carburetors. Let me know if you have any questions.
