A question has come up on the resistor wire routing on a 1968 non TI 427/390 L-36 motor. One person says it is to go through the round grommet on the rear of the shielding and another view is that only TI cars had a wire going through that grommet and the 2 resistor wires that go to the coil go under the shielding. This does not look correct to me but wanted someone to check who has a NON TI L-36 to advise. The AIM is not conclusive as to whether is is TI or Non TI with its diagram. Thanks.

Re: Resistor Wire Routing on L-36
I can't say for sure that it was always like this because the car was 19 years old when I bought it but my two resistor wires go through the grommet. I can't see why there would even be a grommet if something didn't go through it but maybe...- Top

Re: Resistor Wire Routing on L-36
Greg, thanks for your response. I think it must be correct to go through the rear grommet too. Just was not sure about TI and Non TI applications. I don't think it matters TI or Non TI. I put the resistor wires through the grommet!Terry Buchanan
