    Owners Pin and Patch-C2

    Hi all,

Can someone in the know tell me if the C2 owners pin and patch were different from the C1? Pictures are worth a thousand words if available.
    Thanks so much in advance.

The Corvette pins and patches were all the same. I believe they started in 1957 and ended in 1966 or 1967. The pins were made by Gordon B. Miller Company. They came with owners kits during that period and also could be purchased seperately through a joint marketing program that G.B. Miller did through/with Chevrolet. The G.B. Miller brochures were sent with a few Corvette News issues and are quite collectable. The same pins were also made onto tie pins/clasps and cuff links. The backs of originals are real gold. I'm not sure who made the patches. There are many reproductions of both out there.

Dave and all, does this patch look like it's the real deal? Just trying to educate myself.

      Thanks,
      Craig

As I remember, the pins were slightly different. I believe there was an article in the Restorer by Alan Severson which provided information of the Owner Kits and any differences.

          Craig;

Looks like mine. Actually, I have two velcroed to my carpeting. I still have my pin and I cherish it, whether or not it is worth anything money wise. In todays world, I guess repros are made of everything so I imagine there are others out there.

            Craig,
Your patch looks right but there are some pretty good repros out there. Need to see in person to verify for sure.

John, did all owners cards look like yours or did some have the key # on them as well? What would be correct for a 64?

                  Thanks,
                  Craig

Maybe John or Dave can confirm but I believe the key numbers first appeared on the owner cards in 1966.

                          Jim,
As you can see in John's photo 65 did not have key numbers. Don't know about 66 but 1967 definately had key numbers. Not sure about 1968 or 1969 but by 1970 the did not have key numbers. I'm sure it was a security issue.

Here's a picture of a set of cards I received in a private email which clearly shows a 64 and several other later years using the key # on the card. It definetly answered my question.

                              Thanks,
