Mine isn't here yet. I live on the Outer Banks of NC, so I guess I'm the last stop for the mail man before London!

Still not yet in South Carolina. My son will get to read it now since I'm on the NCRS Road Tour.

Got mine in the mail yesterday (Ottawa, Canada). From the standpoint of "equitable" timely access to parts/cars for sale in the Driveline I support the online idea, but as a baby-boomer, I still like to read the Restorer "in the flesh"; I just can't get comfortable with on-line journals etc, even here at work...

                      Re: Still no Restorer

As much discussion as we have had about the driveline's delivery I thought I'd pass along what I found out from our local postmaster (Rhonda) this week. It is probably old news to many of you but perhaps not. Before I start though I wanted to congratulate everyone that was involved in the decision to put the Driveline online. I believe it will go down as one of the wisest choices made in the years to come.

Now back to the Rhonda. While knowing our USPS has several issues I doubt the problem with Driveline delivery is high on their agenda so don't look for any change anytime soon. Not knowing the ins and outs of how the mail is delivered (as long as it gets there) I asked Rhonda, "What the hell is going on with the Driveline delivery??". She said the short version(??) was since Driveline was classed at magazine rate the postal service only delivers up to a certain number (individual copies) in any zip code per day (or cycle). And depending on how many copies overall in a zip code they may be broken down from the 5 number zip code to a 3 or 4 number zip code. I believe it goes like this: Say the the magic number is 100 for delivery. First example: Using my zip code 62534 there may be 10, so they go to the 6253 and that may be 50. So on to 625 and they're are finally 100. That means it has to go through 3 distributing cycles (which may or may not be at the same terminal, I didn't ask). Second example: If you live in Chicago or 60601 zip you may have 125 so you've already have the "magic number" and they go on their merry way to those 125 lucky members (chumps in the eyes of those STILL waiting for their Driveline). Mine showed up Wednesday the 16th here in central Illinois.

Was she blowing smoke up my wazoo??? (And if she was I am SURE I'll hear about it). It sounds like a system our federal government would enforce. Hope if this doesn't explain it you at least had something to read for the last 4-5 minutes. Have a GREAT WEEK-END!! I gotta go get packed for the Nationals, MY FIRST EVER AND I CAN'T WAIT!!

P.S. I didn't EVEN want to ask her about the 5 number zip code PLUS the 4 Address code. That'll have to wait until next month when this topic comes back up.
