54 Tires

I was checking out the tires on my '54 today and took some pictures as well. I believe these could be original tires although I wouldn't dare to use them for driving (3 of the 4 tires still hold air)...

Rob-

I know that GM used different makes of tires on the 54s. But I have a picture of 54s sitting at the GM plant just prior to shipment. A close-up of a tire appears below. The maker name - Firestone - and other info appears in raised lettering within the white wall. Do your tires have the raised white lettering as well???

Here is a pic. Of my NOS tires for my 55 ,having the raised letters in the tread area. Keep the best of the original one you have as a spare tire in the 54 for show and tell as I do .Yes they did do that up to 62?? have had others send me pic. showing the same thing.
