C1 instrument lights

All my instruments lights stopped working all at once.. I have checked the fuses and are all ok.. The gauges still work, just cant see them at night..

Any suggestions or help on where to look next would be great..

Couple of thoughts: lost ground connection? What about the dimmer in the headlight switch?

Mark,

Your headlight switch contains a rheostat and a switch that control your gauge lights and your courtesy lamp, under middle of dash over the radio.

If the rheostat is open the lamps won't work. Dirt and wear will keep the wiper on the rheostat from contacting the resistance wire.

Also look for a small fuse across the forward end of the headlamp switch. If present, it handles the IP lamp load and if blown, will result in the failure you describe. If this the case, be sure to find out WHY the fuse blew.
