Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
#001 roadster, #002 roadster, and #003 coupe have all been sold at least once over the last five years, and #004 and #005 coupes have not. Harry Yeaggy and Jim Jaeger have the roadsters, Tom Armstrong sold #003 to an un-named hedge fund manager two years ago, #004 is still owned by the Collier Museum, and Bill Tower has owned #005 for decades.- Top

Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
I asked this question because of the post Joe Trybulec made on the 1962 Gulf Oil Car thread, the 5th post down. He said something about the recent sale for a record price of a Grand Sport Corvette. I just wondered which car it was and what it went for. I'm sure that this information is out there somewhere!!!- Top

Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
#003 was at the Palo Alto Concours recently and, at the time, it was rumored to be for sale.
I asked a friend about the asking price and this is what he said: "When I was at the Concours someone said they had spoken with him about the "value" of the car and he had suggested something on the order of $10,000,000"

Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
We still don't know which one, since two of the roadsters live(d) in Ohio. Yeaggy and Jaeger both live in Ohio.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
Bob Patterson who had owned #003 during the 80s and displayed the chassis during the 81 NCRS National Meet at San Mateo. He told me several years ago that it was back in his area which I believe was east bay.#001 roadster, #002 roadster, and #003 coupe have all been sold at least once over the last five years, and #004 and #005 coupes have not. Re: Which Grand Sport was sold and how much?
You're welcome Mark. I ran across that website one day, and couldn't leave until I had read every word of it. What a sweet group of historic cars. I can't believe that Roger Penske hasn't bought the one he had been involved with, and let get away. I would like to buy this one possibly coming up for auction, to add to my collection, but am just 7 to 10 million short, it sounds like. Ridge.Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top
