    C-3 Console

Can any one tell me how to remove the fresh air vent knows (w/o ac) so that I may remove the console plate.

    Glenn,

Push the levers fully forward (closed) and you will see a tiny allen head screw (set screw) recessed towards the bottom of the knob. Loosen the screw with an allen wrench (1/16"??) and pull the knobs off. I just had mine off this weekend, simple once you find the screw!

    Good Luck,

    Tom

There is an allen head set screw near the bottom of the ball shaped knob which faces toward the driver. As I recall, it's a 5/64" size allen wrench. Just loosen the screw several turns and pull the knob off the lever.

I thought the screw faced to the rear. If the threads are striped they can be hard to remove. I have retaped them to use a larger set screw.

It depends what you mean by "to the rear". The screw faces the driver but also could be said to face the rear of the car. However, if by "to the rear" you mean the rear of the knob (i.e. the side which does not have the embossed printing on it), that's not the side the screw is on.
