Need Help - 1970 Roadster rear carpet install

    Hello,
I have N.O.S. carpeting kit from the 70s for my 1970 roadster.
Unfortunately, there is no old carpet in rear storage area and the
kit didn't come with instructions or pre-cut holes. So, it's been a slow,
careful process. I managed to cut and trim in the front carpet with the seats
    and belts.

Does anyone have photos and or instruction -
A "How To" for laying out the carpeting in the rear storage area.
The sides, from the rear light forward to the storage compartment.
I've seen pictures of a coupe but it's not the same as a roadster.

I have springs and hinges to go around.
I'm also trying to discern what carpet pieces go where.
I can identify some but not all.

Thanks ahead of time for anything you can offer.

    Joe

I've attached some photos of the carpet sections I have.
maybe you can determine what goes where along with photos you
might have from your 70 roadster. Also, photos of the carpet supplier
    shipping box and label.

    Thanks.

None of your pictures show up.

        Patrick,
I clicked on my Re: reply post and all of the photos show up.
I wonder if anyone else can't see them. Maybe only Mac users can see them.
Hopefully, I'll get responses from others to see if they can see them.

Ok, here's the layout per a diagram on a catalog site:

          [

The top of the picture is the front of the car. In theory I suspect you've installed only the two pieces of carpet that go into the wheelwells.
The next piece back is the bulkhead behind the seats; it's the last piece you will install. The upside-down "T" shaped piece covers the rear floor and rear bulkhead wall. The almost-rectangular pieces on the side cover the rear wheel wells and should be indentifiable by the bumps, bulges and ripples. The 3 small squares in the middle - I'll bet you can guess what those are.

Install the piece over each wheelwell, trim to fit.
Install rear floor and bulkhead piece. The trimmed edges will just go over each side wheelwell piece.
Install seat bulkhead piece; it's a little tricky and I can show you how at some time if you wish.

Easy to do on a convertible since your deck lifts up. Only remove carpet when you have to. Fit it 3 times, cut once.

No, I suspect that YOU can see them because the master pics are on your computer. I notice that several of your pictures on CF appear as blank boxes, too. Photobucket should work for anyone. I think you're trying to use the wrong URL.

Re: 1970 Roadster rear carpet install

              It's getting clearer.
The rear wheel well pieces is what was throwing me off.
My set is pretty much the same as what you have pictured other than
the addition of a long piece of carpet which, must be for the door panels.

Well, I think I can do the rear wrap around. I'll measure several times and
carefully punch out and cut in my light. I need to get this in so I can install my
              soft top.

              Thanks Patrick.

We did Tony's and Dad's with the soft top in place.
It's FAR harder to do a coupe than to do a convertible with the soft top in place.

I can tell from the photos you posted Patrick which one goes where.
Now, I could really use pictures of car's at the rear storage area with
carpeting - From the side, at the rear. I want to see how to go about cutting them in.

                  Thanks.

Ok. I decided to forgo Photobucket and attach from computer.
Here's what I am looking at right now. If I can see how someone
did their car, it can help shed some light for me.

                    Thanks.

You're welcome to come over and look at the yellow car and Dad's red car.
That may be far easier than anything else.
