C2 Now I have a soft pedal after putting my knockoffs back on

I just put new Tigerpaws on replacing my 22 year old Pirelli P77's. Big improvement but when I road tested last night, my pedal was soft. A few years ago I put all new hard & soft brake lines and the calipers are fine. I drove this regularly prior to and always had a nice high, firm pedal.

Could banging all four knockoffs tight somehow cause the calipers to suck air? I've had them all off before & never experienced this.

    Thanks

Could you have damaged a line when re and reinstalling the wheels??
Can you see any leaks on the inside of the wheels or caliper assemblies?
Could it just be a coincidence?

The master cylinder may need new seals to hold the pressure. It is relative easy to install a rebuild kit. Can't mess up on the rear piston assembly, as it will come assembled in the rebuild kit. The front assembly seals once you examine how they are installed are no problem.
Also you could have air in the calipers which can be replaced with bleeding each caliper. If your 66's rear brake discs have to much runout, this will be the cause of calipers sucking air.

Day prior to taking off wheels for new tires brakes were fine. 3 days later putting on all four and whacking the spinners tight and now air in the lines?

I know I can bleed but it is a strange coincidence.

Check to see if you have an abnormal amount of play in any of the wheel bearing assemblies, particularly the rears. If so, the brakes pads may have been pushed back into the calipers during the wheel exchange activites
