Re: neat judging tool
On a possibly related "Neat Tool" issue, I recently picked up a flashlight/magnet at Discount Auto Parts. The small magnet is on the end of a short flex stem, which in turn is on the end of an antenna like mast with a blue light around it. I've used it twice already to recover dropped small metal parts. It's about six or eight inches long collapsed an extends out about three feet. Was inexpensive too.

Re: neat judging tool
Someone, I can't remember who, had an auto inspection kit from COSCO at this years Judging Retreat in Dallas. It contained flashlight(s), a couple of magnifying mirrors, lighted I believe, and a couple of other items as I recall.
Unfortunately I do not get to COSCO often as it is three days mule ride from where we live.

Re: neat judging tool
The cars that "get by" guys like Mike M. and Bill Clupper are few and far between - if you're a "newbie" and want to learn, when you arrive at a meet, go ask the Judging chairman for the judges assigned. If you find Mike & Bill judging together, sign up as an "OJ". I don't care if you are a "Master Judge", you will learn more that day than in the next 10 years.- Top
