67 Taillight Wicks

Could someone please describe in detail or show a pic of exactly how the taillight wicks are suppose to be placed on a 67. Are they suppose to stick out through the notch in the bottom? It appears this would require a bit of squishing of the wicks. Anyway, let me know. Thanks.

Kirk -- in addition to the nice pic's shown in the link that Donald T. provides, here's a couple of my '65. These tail and back-up lights were right out of the GM boxes in early '90s, and the first time the red lens was ever removed is just now, for the pic. Seems the wick end is exposed to the small drain opening in the bottom of the lens (too big to go thru).

You can see the wick in correct position through the clear plastic of the b-up lens.

Hi I was wandering about the "WICKS" on my 65 so once again all I had to do was use the forum! Even my friend at the Corvette shop was puzzled when I showed him my lights! I guess there is a reason my 65 recieved a Duntov. Thanx all!
