    2 questions

Is there a "for sure" way to tell if a 67 gas lid is original or repro? Also, who makes the most accurate and reliable temp sending unit for a 67 big block?

Thanks in advance for your help. Rex

The size of the dimple on the back plate is a usual giveaway. It is much larger on the reproductions. Also the spot welds are different.

Also, originals will have two sets of part numbers cast in the same plain onto the hinge. Current replacements will have only a single set or a double set that is stacked.

I believe this is an original. Numbers (side-by-side) are 38144041 30181-H.
